The Expert for Lake Iseo

Clusane

Clusane has been a fishing village since the 18th century and was able to maintain its traditions, especially the gastronomic ones. It has an impressive church which was built 1932.

The fishermen up until today use their elongated boats, which have a certain resemblance with the Venetian gondolas, on a daily basis to fish tench, trout and other types of fish in the Lake Iseo. The week of tench is celebrated with the festival “Tinca al Forno” every year in the third week of July.

Carmagnola Castle is situated on a little hill in the historic centre of the village. It was built in the 14th century under the government of Oldofredi, a local feudal family. It is now called Carmagnola Castle as in 1429 the Republic of Venice gave it to the important chieftain Carmagnola for his services. The castle has been restored extensively, offers a very elegant loggia and owns remarkable remains of frescoes. The castle is now privately owned, but it is possible to rent it for private occasions.
